Are you experiencing feeding issues, but you've ruled out any issues with your KRYTAC airsoft electric gun by testing it with a different magazine? Or are there BBs jammed in your magazine? It may be time to perform deep maintenance on your magazine.
It can be tricky to disassemble, and sometimes more difficult to reassemble your magazine due to the spring tension and small parts involved. If you are not comfortable with this, please inquire with a qualified airsoft technician.
When cleaning the magazine, do not use lubricants of any type. Any oil or grease will transfer to the BB and foul the hop-up bucking, resulting in poor performance. Just use a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe out any dirt, debris, or other fouling.
150rd M4 Mid-Cap Magazine
To disassemble the 150rd M4 Mid-Cap Magazine, locate and press the orange button on the underside.
While depressing the button, slide off the base plate, then slide the magazine body down and out of the outer sleeve.
To remove the follower spring assembly, use a small tool to raise and partially press in the follower spring base on the left side of the magazine body.
On the right side of the magazine body, continue to remove the follower spring base, and then remove the follower spring.
To further disassemble the magazine body, use a Phillips #2 driver to remove the five screws. Be sure to note how the BB stopper at the top and the base plate retainer on the bottom are oriented before separating the two halves in the event that they fall out during disassembly.
KRISS Vector AEG 50rd Magazine (Short)
To disassemble the short Vector magazine, use a small tool like a pin punch to press the round button on the underside.
While depressing the button, slide the base plate off.
You may now slide the magazine body out of the outer sleeve.
To remove the follower spring assembly, unclip the black follower spring base and pull it away from the magazine body.
To further disassemble the magazine body for cleaning, use a Phillips #2 driver to remove the magazine body's five screws and gently separate the two halves.
Be sure to note how the magazine stopper at the top and the base plate retainer on the bottom are oriented first in the event that they fall out during disassembly.
KRISS Vector AEG 95rd Magazine (Long)
A clear magazine was used for the following images for illustrative purposes. This style of magazine is not available for sale.
To disassemble the long Vector magazine, use a large flat head screwdriver to gently depress the locking tabs on the bottom left and right sides of the magazine.
Once the locking tabs are disengaged, slide the magazine body out of the outer sleeve.
Use a 1/16" punch to remove the silver pin that locks the follower spring base. Be careful as the follower spring base and follower spring may eject from the magazine once the pin is removed. Take appropriate measures to retain these parts during disassembly.
Continue to remove the follower spring assembly from the magazine.
To further disassemble the magazine body for cleaning, first use a tool to press in the round button on the bottom and slide the base plate off (see the 50rd Magazine instructions).
NOTE: Early production magazines have a base plate that is very difficult to slide off and remove without damage. Late production magazines were redesigned and the base plate is easily removed following the instructions above.
Once the base plate is removed, use a Phillips #2 driver to remove the magazine body's five screws and gently separate the two halves.
Be sure to note how the magazine stopper at the top and the base plate retainer on the bottom are oriented first in the event that they fall out during disassembly.
FN P90 50rd / 200rd Magazine
To disassemble the P90 magazine, use a small tool to press in the follower spring base on the front end of the magazine.
While depressing the follower spring base, slide the magazine plate downward. Be careful as the follower spring base and the follower spring will eject once the cover has been sufficiently removed. Take appropriate measures to retain the follower spring base and spring.
Continue to remove the follower spring assembly.
Note that the follower spring assembly includes four additional small parts that aren't connected to the spring and follower. You will need to rotate the magazine until these parts can be removed from the magazine.
The final follower component, the leftmost component in the photo below, is not reversible and needs to be oriented correctly when reassembling the magazine. The smaller diameter of the two lobes is inserted into the magazine first.
To further disassemble the magazine, slide the magazine plate off the magazine, then use a Phillips #2 driver to remove the six screws. Gently separate the two magazine parts. Slowly remove the cover as there are two springs inside, one of which is likely to pop out of position.
Take note of the correct orientation of the magazine stopper (black spring), the magazine cut-off components (silver spring), and the magazine capacity selector (not pictured below).
